How to watch Livecricket on a television
Livecricket has no TV app, and needs none: the site plays on a television in three ways, and none of them installs anything. Which one to use depends on the set. Start with the way that matches your television, and keep the HDMI lead in mind as the one that works on every set ever made.
1The TV's own browser: Fire TV, Samsung, LG
Fire TV Stick or Fire TV: open the Silk browser. If it is not on the home row, search for "Silk" among the apps; it is Amazon's own and free. Type tv.livecricket.is, pick a match, and press the player's full-screen button. The remote's ring moves the pointer; Select clicks.
Samsung TVs: the Internet app is among the TV's apps. Open it, enter tv.livecricket.is and pick a match.
LG TVs: the Web Browser app, in the same way.
Android TV and Google TV: most arrive with no browser at all. One can be installed from the TV's Play Store, but the second way below is usually easier.
2Cast from a phone or laptop: Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast
A television with Chromecast built in (every Android TV and Google TV, a Chromecast dongle, and many Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips sets) shows what a phone or laptop shows.
From a laptop: open tv.livecricket.is in Chrome, open Chrome's menu (three dots), choose Cast, then Cast tab, and pick the television. Start the match and press the player's full-screen button; the TV follows.
From an Android phone: pull down Quick Settings, tap Screen cast (Smart View on a Samsung phone), pick the television, open the match and turn the phone sideways.
From an iPhone to an Apple TV or AirPlay set: open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring, pick the television, then open the match in Safari.
3An HDMI lead from a laptop: any television
Connect a laptop to the television with an HDMI lead and the TV becomes the laptop's screen (a newer laptop may need a small USB-C to HDMI adapter). Switch the television to that HDMI input, open tv.livecricket.is in any browser, pick a match and press the player's full-screen button.
This is the way that works on every set, however old, and the picture does not depend on the TV's Wi-Fi.
Questions
The TV's browser shows the page but the player stays black
Give it a few seconds, then press the player's play button once. If it stays black, that browser cannot run the player; use the cast or the HDMI lead instead. Both show exactly what the laptop or phone shows.
The cast stutters
Casting sends the picture over the home Wi-Fi twice, to the phone and on to the TV. Move the phone or laptop nearer the router, or use the TV's own browser or an HDMI lead, which carry it once or not at all.
Is there a Livecricket app for the TV's app store?
No, and none has ever been published. Should one be made, this page will carry its install steps, and allowing an app from outside the Play Store will apply to it then. For now the three ways above are the whole story.
